Nandai pieces are gold-plated brass set with kundan-style polki (faux uncut stones), American diamonds (cubic zirconia), meenakari-style hand-painted enamel and faux pearls. We are not a precious-metal house and we do not claim to be. What we do claim is that the design heritage — the Mughal-court setting language, the Persian-Jaipur enamel palette, the Rajput silhouette — is the part that has always mattered, and the part we honour with every piece.
Every piece passes through a Jaipur bench. The brass base is shaped, the stones are seated one-by-one into plated bezels, the enamel is hand-painted in layers, the polish is bamboo-and-rouge by hand. The heritage hands stay; the fashion-jewellery materials are what makes the price reachable. You will see hand-tool marks on the reverse of the heaviest pieces — we leave them visible on purpose.
"Nandai Art" is a registered trademark in India. The Nandai trademark card travels with every piece and references the design provenance and the care guidance. Indian-market orders ship with a GST-compliant tax invoice. These are the three claims we can prove on paper — and the only three we ask you to take on trust.
Kundan, Meenakari, Rajputi and Polki are heritage Indian techniques with documented histories stretching back to the Mughal courts. Nandai works in that design vocabulary today — in fashion-jewellery materials, at fashion-jewellery prices.
The Mughal court establishes the foiled-stone setting technique known as Kundan — historically, uncut natural stones cradled in fine gold leaf in court ateliers. Nandai reinterprets this silhouette in gold-plated brass with kundan-style coloured glass.
