Four films · from the bench

The craft, in motion.

Four 8-second loops — the heritage techniques that inspire our work, the setting bench, the wearer's hand. These reference films stand in for our own atelier reels (the workshop videography is in progress); every Nandai piece is gold-plated brass with kundan-style stones and American-diamond accents, hand-set in our Jaipur studio and ready to ship.

  1. The stones — Uncut-stone silhouette, set by hand.

    Uncut-stone silhouette, set by hand.

Our Polki-inspired pieces evoke the uncut-stone silhouette — American-diamond accents in the milky polki layout, hand-set on gold-plated brass.

  2. The plating — Antique gold-plating, the Jaipur way.
    Film 02 · The plating

    Antique gold-plating, the Jaipur way.

Antique gold-plating on a brass / German-silver base — the standard for Indian bridal silhouettes, sourced from a Johari Bazaar atelier we have worked with since launch.

  3. The setting — A single piece, eleven hands.
    Film 03 · The setting

    A single piece, eleven hands.

From plater to setter to enameller to polisher — every necklace passes through eleven artisans before it leaves the bench. None of them are factories.

  4. The wear — Built for a real wedding day.
    Film 04 · The wear

Built for a real wedding day.

Calibrated for the weight of a seven-day Indian wedding — haldi through vidaai. The piece is meant to be worn, photographed, and worn often.

Bridal Meenakari set
The bridal edit

The pieces she'll wear,
the stories she'll inherit.

Seven-day wedding, seven flawless looks. Hand-set kundan- style stones, kiln-fired enamel, faux-pearl strands — calibrated for the weight of a real wedding day, from haldi through vidaai. Built to be remembered, photographed, and worn often.

The materials

Gold-plated brass. Kiln-fired enamel. American-diamond accents.

A short primer on what "gold-plated", "kundan-style", and "Meenakari-inspired" actually mean — so you know exactly what you are buying. Nandai is fashion jewellery; the silhouettes are heritage, the materials are wardrobe-tier.

Base

Gold-plated for bridal.

Every Nandai piece is hand-set on a gold-plated base. Indian bridal layouts — full chokers, maang tikkas, long necklaces — require a lighter, more workable metal than solid gold to drape correctly. The plating is an antique-gold finish over a brass / German-silver core.

Stones

Kundan-style glass, American-diamond accents.

Our Kundan-inspired pieces use kundan-style coloured glass set into the gold-plated bezel — the traditional Kundan silhouette in fashion-jewellery materials. Polki-inspired pieces use American diamonds (CZ) in the uncut-stone layout. Both honour the heritage silhouette at a wardrobe-investment price tier.

Enamel

Meenakari, fired.

Meenakari is powdered glass fused to gold-plated metal in a kiln. The colours — peacock blue, emerald green, ruby red — come from cobalt, chromium, and iron oxide added to the glass before firing. The technique came to Jaipur in the 17th century and has been worked here since.

The stones in light

The silhouette of an uncut stone, brought to life.

A real-time refraction model of the polki-style silhouette — six rough-cut satellites around a centre stone. Move your mouse to feel the way light moves across the uncut-table profile our setters cut into American-diamond (lab-cut CZ) at the Jaipur bench. This is the visual register the Nandai polki-style pieces are calibrated against.

Ask the atelier anything.

We trained a small model on the 35 pieces in our catalogue, their tags, materials, prices, and the answers our founder has typed to customers. It runs locally — nothing you ask leaves the workshop.

I had three quotes from larger houses. Nandai was the only one that let me see the Kundan being set. Looks like a museum piece.
  • P.K.
    ★★★★★
The Meenakari-inspired earrings arrived in a hand-stitched gift pouch with a card showing which atelier fired the enamel. My mother cried.
  • S.T.

I have pulled jewelry for nine magazines this year. Nandai is the only Indian house with a price-to-craft ratio that actually shocks me.

The design heritage that inspires us

Five centuries of Indian jewellery, in eight moments.

Kundan, Meenakari, Rajputi and Polki are heritage Indian techniques with documented histories stretching back to the Mughal courts. Nandai works in that design vocabulary today — in fashion-jewellery materials, at fashion-jewellery prices.

Why Nandai

A short letter, before you browse.

Nandai exists because handcrafted heritage design shouldn't be locked behind precious-metal prices. We work with master artisans in Jaipur to bring traditional Kundan, Meenakari, Polki, and Rajputi silhouettes into fashion-jewellery materials — gold-plated brass, American-diamond accents, kundan-style polki — so the design heritage reaches everyone, not only bridal-budget buyers.

Every piece is real Indian craft, hand-finished in Jaipur. The price tag is what's different.

If you're not sure what suits you, write to me directly. Most days I answer within four hours.
