Kundan, Meenakari, Polki & Rajputi: A Quick Guide to Indian Jewellery Styles

·by Nandai

The names on our collections describe traditional Indian jewellery design styles — the look and the craft tradition each piece is inspired by. Here is what they mean.

Kundan

A classic bridal look: clear, faceted stones set into a gold-toned, kundan-style setting. Timeless and regal.

Meenakari

Colour. Meenakari-style enamel work brings emerald greens, ruby reds and peacock blues to the surface of a piece — perfect for mehendi and sangeet.

Polki

The uncut-stone look. Our Polki-style pieces use uncut-polki Noor crystal for that soft, candle-lit sparkle, ideal for receptions.

Rajputi & Rajwadi

Bold, ceremonial designs inspired by the royal courts of Rajasthan — hasli necklaces, elephant motifs and statement chokers.

Every Nandai piece is gold-plated brass, set with Noor crystal and faux pearls — the heritage look, made affordable.
